agent dashboard (1a) executive dashboard (2a)

The five steps are one specification sheet, not five pages. Every step is a numbered band that is always present, always shows its current answer as a plain sentence, and opens in place when clicked — so the person building their third report of the week reads five lines, changes one, and runs it. The step rail across the top is a jump list with a completion mark, not a Next button; the preview is a permanent panel that re-reads on every change rather than a final screen you arrive at.

A saved report keeps its five steps — subject, columns, filters, grouping, sort — so the next run is one click. Start from a blank sheet, or open one of the three the brokerage already maintains and save your own copy.

Why the form is built this way

No Next button anywhere. Each of the five steps is a band that always shows its current answer as a readable sentence — “Transactions · 412 rows in scope”, “7 columns · Address, Close date, Price…” — so the screen doubles as the report definition. Opening a band does not close the others.

The step rail is a jump list with a completion tick, so someone building their third report of the week clicks straight to Columns, changes one field, and watches the preview update. Nothing forces a linear pass.

Permission is expressed by absence. The agent's column picker has no Payroll or Corporate cost group at all — not greyed rows — and their scope reads as a locked breadcrumb rather than a disabled dropdown. The share control is not rendered for an agent, and the saved-reports table drops its “Shared with” column entirely rather than showing an empty one.

Sharing is role-only by construction: the control offers roles with member counts and states that a shared report runs under each viewer's own scope, which is what makes role sharing safe.
